Can I Delegate Without A Team?

This is an ode to my mom. You know she was the master and amazing at asking and telling. You never got that bossiness and you never got that ask, but she was amazing.

I saw her do this in coaching sports, in teaching kids in PE and even at large family gatherings. That was always the joke around the table is what would Val get you to do. And you would love doing it no matter what.

I also see this in business owners. I was speaking to some business owners recently and I consider SOP, standard operating procedures, a form of delegation. It is letting go of that control. Delegation is letting somebody else run with it, asking and telling.

I also see it with myself. You know I’m on this one-woman journey. So, this is totally against the delegation, but I’m getting the systems ready and I’m treating it as the “other person”. We’re going to try that. That might be a stretch.

I learned the delegation skills from mom. It is ironic that I’m trying to do this business “by myself”. I will not say “by myself” because I have a support system and peer group all around me but I don’t have somebody doing the tactical. So, that is my journey.
