Do you work weekends and holidays as a business owner?. I thought that would be an appropriate question to answer today, since it is Labor Day here in the US and that is a holiday.
I will say that sometimes I work on weekends or on holidays. There are 3 factors for me is if I will take off a weekend or a holiday:
#1 – If I have something planned. If I have something planned, then I’m taking it off.
#2 – If I don’t have something planned and I need a break, then I won’t work.
#3 – If I don’t have something planned and I don’t need a break, then I will work.
I do like to give myself 1 day a week that I am not online, not doing anything. I need that mental break. And I also aim for the same on the evenings that I work. I like to stop at a reasonable hour to give my mind time to wind down, spend time with my husband and do other activities.
It will depend on your type of business. If you have a brick and mortar, customer facing, nine-to-five type business, and depending on how you support your customers, your options may vary.
As an online service based business owner, I have options. And it’s also how I designed my business. I wanted to have that option and flexibility to work when and where I wanted, within reason.
I also like what I do, and I give myself that freedom.
