Put the effort where you want the reward – and also the opposite. For example, I spoke at a conference. I speak because it’s one of the major ways that I drive my leads. It also gives me influence, visibility, allows me to share my thought leadership and helps more people. I put effort into speaking because I get my reward, leads in this case.
I spoke to another business owner recently. They were creating content for a newsletter. When I asked them what type of return they got on the newsletter, they replied not much. In fact, they shared, many people don’t even open it.
Again, put effort where you want the reward- if you’re not getting a lot of reward on your newsletter or whatever other marketing stream you have, don’t put the effort there.
Double down on what works.
This also works personally, too.
If you want to spend more time with your family, you clear up your schedule.
If you want to get healthier, then you make time to either cook or eat right or go to the gym.
Put the effort where you want the reward.
